Lighting scale question

So I was told when i started to start the light low and scale up as I go. so i got a 630w cmh and I started it at 315w next level up is 520w or something when should I scale it up to that in currently running 315w

Are you dimming the CMH lights? I wouldn't dim any HID.

Dimming them can change the spectrum or something. I though about getting dimmable ballasts for my CMH, and then I read about that.

Just looked it up and youre right man its the worse dimmimg with cmh too I bumped it up to thw 630w and im gonna raise the light to about 30 inches and see how the react then maybe lower from there how low would you recommend hanging the lights ive been careful about it maybe too careful.

I ran my CMH as close as 18" in flower. 30" should be a good place to start. Then gradually lower it a little if you want. You don't need a ton of light in veg.
