I am building a grow cabinet its gonna be 3x4x7. I plan on using a 1000w hps. Is this to much light? I think the heat might be a problem to. any advise?:joint:

the heat will be a problem only if you dont vent. Its really hard to get too much light. 1000 watts in that space is great, definitely not TOO much though. Just find a way to vent that heat out and you'll be in good shape. There is lots of suggestions and stuff on how to vent heat in other threads.

yeah u could use the 1000. i highly suggest venting the light also. that cuts the heat factor enormously.

I was planning on 4 fans 2 in the bottom to pull in fresh air and 2 on top 1 attatched to a carbon scrubber. I am gonna grow 7 plants in a scrog.

i would do a max of 6 plants in a scrog in that area. i would personally do 4 plants. so each one has 3 sq feet to grow. remember your growing horizontally not vertically in scrog. so u need more sq foot space for them to grow. what kinda fans are you going to use. and i really think you will HAVE to vent your light.

i havent decided on what fans i was gonna use but, I definately will have 1 hooked up to the light. I have researched everything but what fans i am gonna use and what nutes i will be using. I have been watching your scrog and that is what finally made me decide to grow with scrog.

Its funny so many people have been saying that exact same thing. Im glad my experiment has been an inspiration. I think ive found the way im going to grow from now on. its very effective if done correctly. Personally i would buy like a 270cfm or 300+ cfm can fan. hook it up to your light and leave one side open. that will vent near the top of your room and with enough cfm 1 fan would suffice probly. and then hook a scrubber to ur can fan. put some intake holes at the bottom of the box and a couple osilators and you'd be set.

Thank for your help i think that is what i am gonna do. I believe your grow will generate some excitement, its not everyday you see a great scrog journal from start to finish with as much detail as you gave us.

Thats very true. i did probly 3 months of research in detail on scrog b4 i started. i have known the concept forever but never really knew the twist and turns of it. I know it now, once u get used to growing scrog its so easy. Maybe not for a newb but for me it just came naturally.
