Yo I know you may already know this but you can use old news paper as a weed barrier. It is safe and it will compost into dirt overtime. just place a fewsheest down untill you matted the whole plot. It is a cheap weed & bug control.

I don't mind weeds but the more vegetation you have the more bugs will be on your plants\.
