Looking for closed loop system??

Im currently making my own closed loop system. Lots of progress has been made. Almost ready for a test trial. If anyone is interested in getting one please send me a pm.

Heres a picture of the base without the Dewaxing Column sitting on top.

All I need is a pressure gauge and some other key components. Im using
a 200g Dewaxing Column from TerpExtractors. Will be developing a better
Column in the soon future.

PM for questions. Thanks

Will keep this thread updated with progress. Theres a little secret to the two piece collection chamber,
it has a concave bottom for ez scrapes. I intend to use a PTFE spatula much like a cake spatula... only lab grade.

This system will include everything you need to operate. All contact materials are stainless steel 316.
All gaskets and seals are Viton. I've made sure to pay extremely close attention to chemical tolerances
of every single component used. No short cuts here boys and girls... 100% butane friendly.

I recently did a small run and it came out awesome. distilled the tane. Dewaxed the oil. now vac purging. The bud ended up producing an oil that smells like juicy fruit.
ill try to post pics soon with a play by play.

thanks.

how much did u spend all together to get that system up and running.. with everything needed to run it.. including recovery tank . recovery pump.. hoses.. all that shit.

Suggest that you use ball valves instead of butterfly, for ongoing bubble tight reliability.

With a valve above and below the sight glass, when it is flooded and they are closed, it will be under hydraulic pressure with thermal expansion, not gas pressure. I know of several which have ruptured under those circumstances and spilled the contents of the vessel on the spot.

The butterfly valves i have are good for 100+ psi. When i was running the system everything below the dew axing chamber was at -30Hg. When butterfly valves were opened psi equaled out to 0 maybe a little over. All the tane flowed extremely well through a two stage filtering system. Each with 2 lab filters and also a couple coffee filters. The ball valves are always a choice. I wanted the lever for extra stability for sub zero temps.

Alright so I started by distilling the butane that I was using (power 5x).
Both the chamber and solvent tank were put under a vacuum using a regular 3cfm vacuum pump.
About 5 cans worth of butane was loaded into the collection chamber then distilled it into the solvent tank
thats sitting on dry ice in the picture.
The butane will always chase the cold so not much heat is needed to distill the tane. The water inside
the ice chest is around 75-80F.

Heres the column being completely frozen for the dewaxing process. Theres 4 micron lab filters
between the valve and column. A few unbleached coffee filters are at the base of the column for added
cushion when the negative pressure forces the gold through the sight glass and down into the collection
base. (this is the fun part....)

Lid comes off simple enough. The sight glass allows you to pull the chamber off the heat
at any moment you like to achieve the right consistency you want when you scrape or pour.

Heres a pic of the oil sitting at the removable base of the chamber. Made for an extremely easy scrape. All set and done I probably
ran about an OZ of nug. (just as a test) It looks like ill get about 6-7g's of extremely good shatter.

Been having a lot of fun with the system. A lot of small runs are being done right now so
nothing big to show. The system is definitely producing a better quality oil...
I think this is due to the distilled butane and also the operating psi. Higher psi during the
initial pull tends to save more terpenes. As we know under low pressure the terps will
boil off faster ( as will anything that can boil).

Im extremely satisfied with the collection bowl.
I hardly waste any oil during pour or scrape of bho. Seems like the oil has a way easier time
turning into shatter as well. I think I'm about a week and a half out from doing a large run, maybe 8-10 oz of material.

Stay tuned for results

Grats man it looks bad ass.

well its been a while.. and many runs have been done with the system.
heres the aftermath slab of a 50+g pour from the concave bottom. Should have taken the picture
on the top side instead of the flip. small parchment paper imperfections can be seen. Popcorn nugs and kief were
used as material. Strain was our house OG, a special phenotype from a larry x diablo cross. don't mind the bottom right corner either..had to take a little for scientific sample.
