85% Phosphoric Acid to lower it.
Use a pH pen to tell me when I am at 6.0 to 6.1 for Pro Mix HP.

I use 14 drops of hydrochloric per gallon to drop it to 6.2. My tester is probably due for a recalibration after 3 years of non-use.

I use two pipettes of 85% phosphoric acid in 20ltr of water to take it from 6.8 to 6ish

Just curious. Is this true hydrochloric or are you using muriatic?
Me, I make my own pH down with battery acid diluted in distilled water.

Honestly, because I'm getting clutzy in my old age, so it's a little safer. Just gotta really be good the once in a while when making my 'stuff'. Hehe.

Sulfuric acid is much more economical than buying GH pH down.
It's roughly 2-3x more potent than GH pH down and significantly less expensive per quart at the same time.
I recently paid ~$10 for a quart at my local auto parts store.
A little goes a long way.

For all I know it was one of your posts that turned me on to the idea, lol. I read about it here. $10 at the auto parts store for a qt. Makes about two gallons of 'diy' pHdown.

Yea, it's a time to be careful. I ways carefully fill up my dropper bottle over the sink. I don't like muratic because I had some stored in their original containers and the sweated or gased and destroyed and nearby metal.

I don’t even dilute it. That makes it super weak IMO.
