Ive been doing research lately on how to lst your plants and im gonna do it today when i get home. My questions are is it ok to lst them tonight and leave em like that all day tomorrow or do i need to do it in the morning? Also how long and frequently should i be doing this to my plants?

Thabks in advance!

You have to leave them tied down permanently dude.. until they naturally stay like that.

Really? I thought u keep em tied down just for a few hours then un-tie them?
No, if you do that your plant is just gonna go to growing upwards again, Plants are very strong, I've lsted the actual top below one of the nodes below and when i anchored the plant it was flat, 2 days later 2 nodes from the top became the new top and actually made my stem bend from stretching for the light. Im very high so not sure if that made any sense, Sorry.

Conclusion: gotta anchor it for atleast a month in my experience, I anchor it the entire grow but have experimented

The whole point is that you're trying to redirect hormones. If you confuse it by tying and untying, the LST will never take.

But you can try and prove us wrong because tying/untying is not a method I ever heard or thought of.

You've never heard of it because it would be a huge pain in the rear. Leave em tied down dude.

Ohhhh ok gotcha. So from what i got out of this is just keep em tied down till they stay like that then its ok to un-tie them. My plants are only a little over two feet tall since i started so late in the season so im hoping this will help.

Everything on the plant will start turning towards the sun. The overall benefit is more sun access to lower bud sites and a bigger plant without the height.

Good question and I would love for you to answer it for all of us come oct. lot of debate going on about that. If you have two plants of the same strain in same size holes or pots and promise not to clip any premature bud to smoke out of desperation (we all been there) then you might be able to add some meat to the argument that growers everywhere have been having for years.

I bent a few plants over this year out of necessity. My supplemental light was potentially going to burn leaves so i tied them and it bushed out nicely. I untied them when the rope nearly cut into the branches. I didn't want to cut off circulation. It may eventually have snapped the twine but better safe than sorry.

Well i have 11 blue dream plants growing and 4 other strands growing. As far as the blue dream they were all planted in the same size holes at the same time and they were all very close to the same size. I only tied down 5 and left the 6 others standing up. I havent done anything to them except feed and water them. So ill go ahead and see i notice a difference in the lst plants from the ones i left standing up.

Also i wont be touching any of the buds since i personally dont smoke anymore. But im sure once i harvest im going to try a few of the strains to see how i like them lol.
