Depends on how you do it. I used to use holes in my container to tie everything off to but found that binder clips (think that is what they are called) attached to the side of the pot work much better as it is easy to reposition them.
Here is a pic in case you were wondering..... if you do transplant just untie the lines from the clips and you are good to go.

Yea man I always start my lst in small pots. When they are ready I put them into 3 gallon pots. I use screws screwed into the side of the pot to tie mine down. I'm going to have to pick up some clips & give those a try. The screws can be a pain sometimes . If you use screws remember to remove the before a transplant or you may rip a few root.
