Depends on how hard you want to drive them and what light intensity you're aiming for.So with Lumiled Luxeons new SunPlus line of chips I'm wondering if anyone thinks a PCB strip with 100 x L1SP-PRP1003500000 (12.5% blue purple 5630) would be good? How many strips of 100 leds would cover a 4x4? Each strip would be 560mm long
Thanks heaps for the technical breakdown I would be running these strips along side 3000k strips to try cover the spectrum fully.Depends on how hard you want to drive them what light intensity you're aiming for.
Let's say you want to reach 800 µmol/s/m^2 average @ test current
typical photon flux per LED @ test current = 0.58 µmol/s
area = 4x4 ft^2 ~ 1.486 m^2
needed photon flux = 1.486 m^2 x 800 µmol/s/m^2 = 1188.8 µmol/s
# of LEDs needed = 1188.8 µmol/s / 0.58 µmol/s ~ 2050 LEDs
Optical losses are not included, obviously.
600 of those running at 50% rated current would produce 667PPF and ~350watts of power to run. 1.86 umol/JThanks heaps for the technical breakdown I would be running these strips along side 3000k strips to try cover the spectrum fully.
I've got a quote for 560mm ALU PCBs with 100 chips on each board, I was thinking 3-6 560mm strips over a 4x4 in between 1120mm 3000k Samsung M series C strips. Whatre your thoughts on this?

May I ask where you're getting the PCB's for these? I've been looking myself to find this for lumiled sunplus line.
