Magnesium Deficiency Help!

Hello everyone,

I have a magnesium deficiency and am trying to deal with it. I believe it was caused by hard water because I am using tap water with no RO system (PH adjusted before watering of course). My plan is to foliar feed with an epsom salt solution, but I have a few questions. First, how often should I foliar feed? Once a week? Twice a week? Second, I need to deal with whats locking it out in the soil (promix). My plan for that is to use dolomite lime. How much should I use? Can I dissolve the lime in my barrel of water and then water the plants with it to make it work faster rather than sprinkling it onto the soil? Please, anyone who has any experience with this and any suggestions on how to deal with this issue as quickly as possible it would be greatly appreciated.

...sup bud. Well...where do I start? LOL, okay, well...RO water has absolutely nothing in it as far as fertilizer/elements go. Tap water on the other hand usually has a measurement of 200 - 300 ppm (parts per million) of fertilizer/elements in it. So, tap water actually does contain benefitial elements, and RO water can cause problems (cal./mag. def.) because the filters strip the water to a near zero ppm.
Most tap water works great for MJ, as long as you do not have a very high ppm and it is dechlornized....

...mostly hydro growers using chemicals fertilizers go with RO water because it prevents lockouts, and it allows better control of knowing what your plants are getting....and ro allows a good predictable PPM reading.
(for example) mixing your chemical fertilizers, the proper order is: MICRO, BLOOM, then GROW. The reason is, the MICRO can lock out if exposed to a high PPM. So, once micro is mixed/diluted into your H2o , bloom is then ready....exc...

...this being said, if your having a cal./mag. issue, it is probably due to you having a LOW ppm in your tap H2O. Tap is usually loaded with Cal./Mag.

...however, to remedy your problem, I'd personally just go to the hydro store and get some cal./mag., ask for it, they got it.

The marijuana plant problem section stated hard water as a cause of the deficiency which is why I believe it to be the cause. The water in my area smells so bad I can barely drink it and I'm not picky when it comes to food and drink lol. I think its heavily chlorinated and god only knows what else is in it. Back to the deficiency. Its def a cal/mag deficiency. Yellow leaves with brown/rust colored spots. Do you think its being locked out because of ph shifts or just an actual deficiency (its run out of the nutrient?) Should I use dolomite to make sure the ph stays stable?

...sorry man, I didn't even answer your questions. When you foliar spray, do it when the lights are off, the liquid can and will cause burns on your plants.
...I'd get rapid lime if your going to go this route, 1 TBLS per gallon of soil, add as a top dressing, and water it in as normal. Normal dolomite lime needs to set in the medium for weeks before it get to working...so be sure to get the rapid lime.

...the lime will add cal. and fight to keep your PH balance level (7),
