I got one for about 20 from ebay.
Search digital microscope.
It's black. Comes with a little stand. Has 5 led lights on the end of it.

Most common hand-held mini-scope is 30X and can be eBay'd for $15-20. Make sure batteries are included, eh?
Trick to using a 30X mini-scope.
* Put your sample on the back of your left hand.
* With the 'scope in your right hand, lower the 'scope until one corner rests above the sample.
* Use right hand to tilt 'scope back and forth while leaving the one corner on the sample.
* Focus by leaning 'scope to and fro. Eliminates almost impossible task of focusing while turning a little wheel.
