Im in the 3rd week of flowering, and i was wondering if it would make my buds get bigger if i turn off the lights for 24 hours instead of the 12-12 schedule. i just want bigger and more dense buds... how?

I am in no way an experienced grower but i have a bit of experience none the less.
Oversimplified: If u want higher yields you need to keep your grow mediums ph within the range which best suits the medium's ability to absorb nutrients. I've read it's 5.8 to 6.5 with soiless, containing no nutrients from start (i.e. soil brands such as promix, sunshine mix, etc...) and just under 7.0 if you're using soil that does contain nutrients (i.e. fox farm soils or other organic soils). If you're plants are in week 3 of flower and not having any problems you're ph is probly just fine and no worries.

Also, you musn't overfertilize or underfertilze your plants because this eventually starves your plants, but in different ways.

Overfertilizing will eventually lead to salt build up and this, so i've read, can react with food already in the soil and create compounds that the plant cannot use for growth. Also, some components of fertilzers have a tendency to lower the ph of the soil OVER-TIME - so, as i've been told, overfertilizing will starve your plants by messing up what it can eat and it's appetite, dictated by ph, for the fertilzer(food) you give it.

Underfertilizing will also reduce your yield by....starving it of food.

So....if your plants look good and leaves look healthy green with an even profile (i.e. no curves, twists, curls, dryness, hooks, etc...) you're most likely doing all the right things. There are also many other factors that make plants happy and give high yields which you should read in grow faqs, books and other websites. IF YOU ARE doing all the right things and your plant is uber happy with your game the only thing limiting your bud yield is the seed or plant's genetics.

This wasn't meant to give you a direct answer, but to shed light on the complexities involved in getting HIGH yields......also cause i don't know them myself. My experience with these websites is that you'll be lucky to find someone who has a definetive answer bout things and that the real teacher is your own experience as a marijuana horticulturalist.

P.S. don't turn lights off for 24 hrs, all the shit i've read would say that's common sense.

peace

be patient 3rd week of flowering you have to give them time they will do their job as long as you give them time depending on strain most 50 to 60 days

also around that point you can harvest the main colas and let the other sub canopy buds fatten up they will now have light most people just harvest the whole plant but you can do this method when the colas ready

As has been said, DO NOT CHANGE THE LIGHT!

You can use something like Monster Bloom or Beastie Bloomz about every two weeks during flowering and your buds will get huge. Just don't over do it because they will burn easily using that stuff. I gave mine some after just one week and it burned it.

when using pk boosters (it may vary from brand to brand) be sure to reduce your base nute strength. adding the suggested amount coupled with your regular nutes could really burn your girls up. i believe most suggest using for 1 week, 3 weeks prior to harvest.
