Making myself at home~

Hello Good people of Rollitup,

I would like to take the time to introduce myself since I have already started to make myself at home. The husband found this site last night and we got hooked on reading Trenton's first grow.

My primary love is mycology, the cultivation of Mushrooms. I started to study that in mid 2000, I was a regular on the shroomery and met a kind fellow in my area who swapped trades with me and taught me how to grow the budz and in turn I helped him set up his mini mushroom farm.

I had set up a number of grow rooms by the time that OG went down at the start of 06. I canceled all of my online account and went into hiding, this is the first time in 2 years that I have made an appearance on a forum. I lost a lot of friends and a considerable amount of sanity... overgrow was a haven or safety, community and information for me so I took it rather hard when shit hit the fan. I was happy to find out that most of us were safe in that the information on OG would die with the website or at least stay buried far enough that we wouldn't have to worry about there being a week of mas raiding of OG members.

I am happy to come out of hiding, I feel that I have a lot of useful information to spread to the growing community.

I very much enjoy the way this site is laid out, it reminds me fondly of OG... Mostly because of the growFAQ that seems a bit empty as of now.

I look forward to sharing my growing experience with all of you.

I was in a similar situation - long time OG reader who went into hiding for a while post-shutdown. learned tons from that site - I'm on my sixth stealth grow cabinet and each one gets better and better.

Just recently started on shroomery and started my first grow with mushrooms. Combining the 2 grows is great - the vented heat from my MJ grow keeps my shrooms at the right temps. I've got a second flush that will be ready fror pickin' tomorrow. Couldn't have timed it better for fresh shrooms on New Years!

welcome welcome welcome. i was wondering. maybe you should do a post or a faq or somthing on growin shrooms? im interested and would like to try it out as im pretty sure many of the other members woud like to hear what you have to say. welcome

Thanks for the welcome Trevor. I will be sure to keep that in mind, I want to track down a very old post on the shroomery I made years ago about sterilizing and growing out substrates using Ziploc containers and a microwave. I’m sure it would interest a lot of people who would like to keep their costs down and not have to find jars until they are ready to do grains.

*sigh* Haven’t grown mushrooms in a year or 2 for lack of space, but I’m rebuilding my entire grow all over again. Whoo hoo
