Hi... to make oil, do I necessarily need to decarb bud in an oven first or will it decarb in the oil during infusing under heat? Just wondering if a step can be eliminated. Thanks....
Really that should work just fine. I never decarb when I make oil or butter. It gets heated for hours while I do the infusion, and always works very well!Making some capsules actually ...just wondering if it decarbs effectively if heated at about 230deg F in oil for 3 hrs or so? There are so many opinions on this.
I'm sorry for not replying I didn't get an alert but honestly, I don't cook anything higher then 200ºF Low and Slow is what I've always done myself. They recommend 220ºF but I like it a lot colder.Making some capsules actually ...just wondering if it decarbs effectively if heated at about 230deg F in oil for 3 hrs or so? When I used to make a lot of these I would actually mix MCT oil and Cannabis oil together, works with both alcohol and cooking oil extractions. IT works as a cutting agent for potency altering and also as a binder as it has a medium polarity THC and other Cannabinoids will bind to it. A lot of products we consume use MCT, most flavored syrup type products.I use a small crockpot and have never actually checked the temp . It gets hot enough lol.
I have a rather old crockpot and an infrared thermometer and watch it rather closely. My understanding from a bit of research is I need to get to at least 225deg for a few hours without getting over 300 dog so as not to degrade cannaboids.... correct? Hoping...I use a small crockpot and have never actually checked the temp . It gets hot enough lol.
yep for the most part correct, I wouldn't let it get past 250 myself though, anything higher and you're burning cannabinoidsI have a rather old crockpot and an infrared thermometer and watch it rather closely.
