Is there a way to tell what sex the plant will be the first few days of being sprouted up?

no you cannot use any bulb that has a filament, acceptable bulbs are compact fluorescents, metal halide/high pressure sodium bulbs or led's but I would recommend hps.

you can get a decent hps hood, blub and reflector online for as cheap as 150 bucks. you can get some cfls in the meantime. they are everywhere and cheap too

The 150w CFL is actually 42w...your going to want more lights though if your going with CFL's.

those cfls will get you started, and they are great for rooting seedlings and clones. because they give off little heat, you can keep them alot closer to the plants ( as in 5- 12") much more and the little guys will streeeetch for light giving them very weak stems. Those lights should buy you some time though so you can get your hands on an hps. you can buy online. or go to a hydroponics store somewhere.

yeah dude, I would wait on nutes for about 3 weeks, then give a quarter to half of what the bottle/container of nutes directions say to use, and stay clear of miracle grow.
