male plant already has sacs opening, too late for cuttings?

I've read that from 12-28 days (or thereabouts) after switching to 12/12 lighting you can make cuttings
of male plants to make it easier to collect pollen by placing cutting in a bottle/vase with water and cover
it with foil to collect any falling pollen.

I have a LST'ed male so lots of pollen arms that would be easier
to harvest pollen if I could make cuttings of each arm, but he is very mature, with a few sacs already
popped open in the past 2-3 days and about 1/3 of the rest looking like they'll open any day now.

Is it too late for me to make cuttings?

Thanks in advance!

I never had a male to collect pollen from, but I saw a video where someone just held a sheet of printer/typewriter paper under the male and shook the branch and the pollen collected right on the paper. So you may want to try that out, who knows it might work and it sounds a lot easier than all that cutting and water bottle stuff etc. Interested to know if you have any luck!

Yeah i'd do that but because its a LST it has been tied down in such a way that its impossible to get any paper or foil etc underneath the branches.
I tried collecting yesterday by gently bending over each arm and tickling open sacs onto a folded piece of paper, but its risky handling the whole
plant doing this as I inevitably knock other open sacs in the process, wasting pollen, so it would be easier if I could cut the arms off and let them
do their thing.

What I found to be the easiest for me is a a pair of I think it is 15 inch surgical tweezers and a small small glass snack bowl or bottle. The tweezers have become a very useful tool working with the plants. I can reach in pull the pollen sacs off gently without disrupting the plant. Also on your girls it is invalueable in pulling off any nanners you might find during flower.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. WeedZilla, will all the sacs open doing this suffocating technique or
just ones that are very close to opening anyway? I really like the idea of getting the whole branch done
in one go rather than waiting for each sac to ripen.
