Male Plant Harvesting

I was wondering if a male plant was a bit more rugged then female.
For instance - can we have a male go through the dark, the light, the clouds, the rainy northern California winters (which are not too bad compared to many) and produce good seeds.

Has anyone done this? If so - what results did you get.

Or do we run the risk of a Hermie.

Males are basically a bunch of pollen pods. The pods open the pollen puffs out.

I dont know about more rugged but you can give them less light and they keep right on moving. I put my males in a box with a crappy flourescent long enough for them to drop pollen to collect.

u need a male and a female to make SEEDS.

You take some of the pollen from the males (dust that comes out of the balls) put it on some of the flowers of the female. and Voila! You got seeds when the female is ready for harvest. Takes about 4 weeks from what I read to have good seeds. but if you're talking about making a male hermie and produce seeds I've never seen this happen.

I know that perhaps I wasn't clear. I was just asking if growing males was not so particular about light cycle.
Since the N CA winters are not ideal light wise to grow. If i grew out males - outside in the winter in a small green house of sorts, what would my final result be?
Would the males end result produce 50/50 male/female or an over abundance of hermies.

The males will produce 50/50 im sure you know it takes 2 to fuck and im sure cannabis is against gay marriage.If you really want seeds then make a gallon of aspirin water(crush aspirins) maybe 1000mg per gallon and spray your female with it to make it herm(unless u got a herm already) and mate the herm with another female = 100% females (don't use the herm seeds)The seeds from the herm will most likely be herms too like 80% of the time,so only use the herm seeds if you plant on making more fem seeds.I hope this helps

It seem people tend to think you are unfamiliar with how seeds are made. I say you can deprive the males of a lot of things but Im not sure messing with the light cycle is the best idea. If you can get one small cfl in a corner of a room or closet, that will suffice. They dont need much of anything to produce that pollen. I can imagine if you had a male that went through a different lighting everyday it would produce more hermie prone seeds, as opposed to a male that went through great conditions in 12/12..
But thats just my 2 cents

I am not messing with the light cycle. Mother nature is by virtue of time of the year. I just wanted to grow a few male plants through winter in a small tent (8x10) and just wanted to know if it was a viable option.

Thanks. I wanted to see how viable it was to take advantage of the winter months outside by growing male plants.
If they don't pan not - no big deal. My end game is simply to see if a male plant is at all productive with limited light due to mother nature (time of year).

This is what I thought too. First I know nothing about breeding but I figure the only way to learn is jump in.
I have a male I have been playing with. It was placed in a tray and down to 1 cfl for light. No pollen:!: Its 1/2 dead at least 50% of leaves dried and shriveled to nothing. It dropped every pod like a dying plant dropping seed. :?: :?: :?:
