Male plant pollen collection

Hi All,

I want to collect pollen from a male plant that I am growing. The pollen sacks open up, however the pollen sacks stay green. They don't become yellow, can I still collect pollen from this plant? The sacks have been growing over a week now and opening up as well. Looking forward to your answer.

Have a good day!

A couple of weeks maybe.
Have you seen any pollen yet?.
I isolate the males. I bend the stems over the side of the pot. Place a glass plate under them. The glass catches the pollen which I then scrape it together disgarding the spent flowers on the glass.

Hope that helps

What is the usual time for male flowers to ripen/drop pollen?
Typically you see pollen right after the male flower opens. It looks like some of the male flowers in the picture are open so I would expect to see some pollen at this point.

Yes, some of the male flowers opened but no pollen whatsoever or it's not dropping any visible pollen for me. I put a piece of aluminium foil around the plant to check if there is any pollen dropping.

It is possible that it may be sterile, that strain clearly produces a lot of mutations.
Is it a feminized strain that has been reversed?

I was able to get some pollen, I needed to wait a bit longer. As @Funkentelechy mentioned this is a mutated strain and it doesn't produce a lot of pollen majority of the sacks are empty. I didn't reverse this plant with STS or colloidal silver, it was a male from the start. I do have two other plants from this strain which I hope will turn out to be females so I can reverse those to try and make a feminized strain as well. Thank you all for replying!
