Manicuring Fanleaves

did some reading on line about the functions of fan leaves and have come to the conclusion that theyre best left on the plant. however, when circumstances permit, can you manicure the distal ends of fanleaves leaving only the proximal body and petiole? how will this affect plant metabolism and growth? will this agian, cause the plant to redirect growth hormone and use up more energy? i know they do that when taking cuttings for clones so what would it do to my plant if i cut all the brown off? heres some before and after pics.

all three of my plants have been on the same feedibg schedule since seedlings so i dont undersdtand why only one plant got burnt. now im feeding them 2-8-4 tiger bloom and 5-45-19 with every other watering. my plants come inside at night and are outside all day. and they must be about 7 weeks old.

go to the garden store they have it it will help with your leaf question that u keep asking and u wont have keep posting the same question that no one wants to answer over and over and over Roundup here u go this will solve all your problems

i have to ask questions multiple times because i cant get a clear and concise answer when people like you who dont even understand the question reply with some stupid shit like you did. you didnt answer my question and told me to get weed killer. im inquiring about browning fan leaves, i guess thats something over your head. if you cant answer my questions dont go to my fucking posts.

yeah thats exactly what im talking about- all these marijuana growers and not one knows the right answer. rollitup is a fucking joke and i guess theres nothing wrong with asking questions- but the simplest questions that anyone who has grown a few crops can answer can't answer. what a lame ass forum.

all you want to know is how to keep a healthy plant and you have people who find it annoying. imagine that. theres got to be a better forum than roll it up.

OK, first off you have to post some info before people want to help. OK first what do you use to water plants...ie. tap water, distilled etc. Do you pH the water? What is the pH of your run off water. What is your soil mix. OK just so I don't get ridiculed it could be a number of things, pH problem causing some lockout, or you might need to flush as the salts have built up on the roots from the nutes, and another option is a Mg def. in which case you want to add some epsom salts or buy some Cal-Mag. Are you feeding them a full dosage of the nutes? If you give more info people are more willing to help. And lastly don't go by # of posts to determine who knows how to grow and who doesn't.

As for the round up, well good thing you aren't an idiot cause it would have killed your plant most likely, considering it is a weed. If you suspect someone is pulling your leg then just look at some of their posts easiest way to see if a person knows his/her shit. As for butter111 I wouldn't listen to him he obviously thinks it's funny to have someone kill his plant....not cool. There are a lot of idiots here, but it's the same as the other sites, I can guarantee that.

Real nice, are you trying to be a jerk on purpose or what dude? Just curious? I wanna know why you think it's cool to give advice like that, how would you feel if someone did that to you when you were starting? It's guys like you that make me laugh.....at you not with you. Have a good weekend.

try posting in mj plant problems someone will read it monday morning that might know how to help u like skunkushbird most of the guys that know alot answer in the mornings on week days. since the gygax1974 doesnt know anything either. i just cut the dead leafs off of my plants they seem to be doing just fine i over ferted them also

I think I know the answer to the pruning question too I think, just think about it. If part of plant is already dead and not using energy or hormones would it be the same as pruning for clones, no. Why, cause when you cut clones they are live parts you are cutting, he is cutting dead parts. Also cutting off a dead part probably doesn't require any energy, dead is dead and not using or giving any energy. So I wouldn't think that cutting off the whole leaf because part of it is dead would help any. it might relocated hormones to promote growth elsewhere, but you just reduced it's capability to intake and create enrgy for growth. So I wouldn't do it, it's not going to help if it can't create energy to sustain more growth. So if he trimmed just the dead parts no big deal no change, if you cut the whole leaf cause part of it is dead you are just hurting the plant more than helping it IMO.

my plant has been in ocean forest soil, like all the other ones from seed. i get purified water from the corner store, not sure of the ph. and my run off, again i havnt taken the ph. im getting a digital ph reader in afew days so ill be able to have that info. i fed them foxfarm grow big 9-4-4 for 4 weeks in veg, switched to tigerbloom 2-8-4 first week of flowering and add 5-45-19 every other watering and i am on third week of flowering. im not feeding them full dosage though. if a fertilizer says to use between say a half tsp to a full tsp, i always use the lower dosage. i guess it looks healthy-but for how long?

try puting some epsom salt in your water 1/2 tsp per gallon u dont have to worry about ph in soil so much with water but your soil may have a ph of about 5 from the looks of your plants the epsom salt will help with that as well as help with the leaves

Also the reason I went on a tangent about his pH and what not is cuase I'm not 100% sure that is nute burn. And purified water might be like distilled water, not sure but I thnik it also lacks Calcium and magnesium. And yes if it is a mag deficiency the epsom salt should stop it and it works but I would definitely just add a supplement to your nutes like Cal Mag.
