Marijuana and working??

I used to think that the two went together perfectly, and in fact they do just up until you find out that you have to actually use your brain at work. I'm working 2 part time jobs over the summer until I get back to school and graduate in the fall.

I just wanted to know what people thought of working/smoking and whether it goes together for them. Me personally, I do it all the time but I find that if I don't then I can get bored or a little up tight.

I agree to some point but there are times when it helps me and times when it doesn't help me... I am not gonna be doing a lot of work where I am gonna be so I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing... like if I become zoned out or if I was standing there sober saying damn I should've smoked I am bored as hell. :blsmoke:

Being intoxicated on the job is irresponsible regardless of the substance. Employers don't pay you to be stoned. They pay you to work.

sometimes i smoke before work. it helps me chill there sometimes because i have a lot of deadlines and pressure there. it makes time move more quickly. i dont see it affecting my error rate. i'm not sure how i do it. its not like i am bagging groceries all day. i work in finance.

I am a pre school teacher, so it really sucks to be high at work. All the kids are full of energy and I cant match it when Im high. Also talking to their parents high sucks too. But when I use to wash cars I was high all the time. So I guess it just depends on the job and how much you need to use your brain.

A high preschool teacher. Am I the only member who has a problem with this?

Cannabis is a recreational substance. Using it while being paid to work is substance abuse.

If one is a business-owner and allows employees to toke-up on breaks, that's another matter entirely.

whats wrong with a stoned preschool teacher? less likely to abuse the kids verbally and more likely to be patient them and mellow. the kids cant tell, i used to get baked before my daycare job, and even before i was an elderly caregiver

It's called malpractice in both cases.

You know you sound like a cop for saying that. You believe the bullshit you talk? Cannabis is an herb, not really intended for recreational use, but healing. I'm sure the teacher uses it medicinally to calm him/her down due to high stress in the job... I, even if I had kids, see no problem with that.

I respect you Socata, you usually make a lot of sense. Not this time.

It sounds as if you are accusing me of being a copper. Is that correct?

No bullshit. Are you seriously suggesting I am a Law Enforcement Officer?

I need to be sure so I may gauge my response to your provocative post saying I 'sound like a cop.'

I work on a till at a shop and i stack shelves.
Nothing super amazing but it's getting me by.

If i wake up one morning and i feel horrible i'll have a few spliff to get me up and about, yeah i've been stoned at work before but it's bad..

Especially when you're bleeping other peoples yummy food and you have the munchies..

I smoke for chronic pain. The pain doesn't go away just because I have to go work. That being said I certainly would not smoke as much before I go to work as I do when I get home.
