The Monroe County State Attorneys Office last month dropped the marijuana charge against Curt Suskevich.
The police determined he had nothing to do with any of the alleged crimes, said Matthew Helmerich, spokesman for the state attorneys office.
An internal investigation of Curt Suskevich by the Cape Coral Police Department has begun, said Connie Barron, police spokeswoman.
She said the officer, who had been on paid administrative leave, is now on administrative duty until the investigation is finished.
Meanwhile, a trial for his wife on her charges has been scheduled for Nov. 17 in Key West.
