Mattysville's multi strain 400w medical grow

This is going to be my first grow journal but not my first grow. I've been growing for about 2 years everything from soil to hydro to aero. I've decided this time to track my progress on here and get hint and tips from my fellow growers. The seeds I am germinating now are all from Attitude. I've ordered from a few different seed banks so far and haven't gotten the best genetics in the past. This time I spent the money to get quality genetics. After researching what I wanted to grow I decided on Barney's Farm LSD. I ordered a 5 pack of fems and got 5 freebie seeds as well. 3 from G13 Labs (OG13, sour jack, and an auto blueberry) all fems, a delicious seeds Madness fem and another auto fem. the 2 autos will probably go outside in a few weeks once the indoor garden is in full swing.

I germed all the LSD, OG13, Sour Jack, madness and a bagseed from some of the stoniest most purple indices I've ever smoked for a total of 9 plants. They were all planted straight into starter cubes 2 nights ago except for the last LSD which was an afterthought planted last night.

My plan is to top each seedling for 4 main colas rooting each top to become the mothers of each plant. I am then going to plant all 9 seedlings in a 34"x34"x16" bed I will be constructing to fit in my 3x3x6.5' tent. The bed will be filled on the bottom layer about 2" of LECA then root mat and then 12" of my soil mix.

My soil mix will be as follows:

3 parts Fox farm Ocean Forest
1 part fox farm Happy Frog
1 part Botanicare ready gro (coco/perlite for drainage)

This will all be top dressed with ready gro when seedlings are topped and transplanted to bed so the nutrients in the soil don't shock the plants. I will be supplementing the soil with Great White myco on transplant and every month after that. I will also be using the liquid and dry fox farm nute lineup to supplement the soil on an as needed Basis.

The bed will have a screen placed about 10" above the soil line to support the plants thru flowering. I will give them 1 week of 18/6 under my 400w MH bulb then switch h to 12/12 keeping the MH for a week and switching toHPS for second week thru harvest.

That is a basic overview of my plans. My next post is going to be more specific to genetics that I'm growing. As soon as the seedling start to pop the soil line I will start adding update pics. I will also be showing pics and instructions for building the flower beds and the soil mix I will be doing. Once everything is up and running I will ask for questions/comments/tips from the peanut gallery until then sit back smoke a doob and enjoy

Ok guys so I would like some input now...

My reading on Barney's LSD has told me there are at least 2 phenos out there and my seeds had 2 drastically different looks to them. 3 of the seeds were a light tan with green and white striping and relatively large for cannabis seeds. The other 2 were very small dark brown and spotted. From my experience sativas normally have smaller seeds due to smaller calyxes and the opposite is true for indica. This is a personal theory no research behind it but if anyone does know for sure please chime in. If that's the case I'll have 3 of the shorter flowering squatter indica variety of LSD and 2 of the long flowering stretchy sativa phenos. The sativa phenos will pair nicely in these flower beds im constructing (I plan to have 2 in seperate 3x3 tents and flip the two tents as veg/flower with a 3rd 2x3 tent to hold the mothers). The indica varieties im excited for bc they flower on a shorter cycle and I can select one mother to represent the strain (assuming only one indica pheno).

The strains I'm not very familiar with are the freebies and the purple bagseed I have. The OG13 is supposed to be an OG hybrid if some kind. Not much info on it but hey it's og so it'll be bomb I'm sure. The Sour Jack is the one I'm most excited about of the freebies. I love sour diesel and jack herer is a great plant as well I'm hoping it's more sour diesel than jack though. The bagseed as I said was from this sack I bought , it was candy coated and a deep dark purple with hints of green on the leafs. The stone was heavy and the taste was spicy and sweet. I saw a very few male bananas obviously developed late in flower and I prayed I find a seed. I usually use a grinder to break up but I broke the eigth up bowl after bowl by hand. I had given up hope on finding a seed as I pulled the last little nug out of the jar I started pulling the calyxes off the stems and one of them was rock hard. I squeezed the bottom and out popped a perfectly formed single seed!!! I literally wept it was joyous. Ok back on track. The Madness is from world of seeds. It's he is a Cindy 99 x matanuska tundra (thunderfuck?).

Ao basically I like my odds with this one. I think the biggest problem I'm going to fce with the first round or 2 of this single bed grow will be training the plant for and even canopy bc the sativas will be stretchy. I'm hoping tiring them over on the trellis will help. Another issue with mixing the indices with the sativas is difference in flowering times. The way I look at this though is a nugget of opinion on stinkbud's 1pound every 3 weeks aero thread is that sativas benefit from early harvest for a more uppy high and indicas benefit going longer for a deeper stone. He flowers 9 weeks in an aero setup. I figured I'll be flowering each bed 9-10 weeks and if needed ill harvest tops then come back in a week or so and pick the rest to make BHO out of along with the trim.

I just checked the veg tent. The jiffy cubes are nice and moist and with the humidity dome, black tray and t5 light above it they are nice and warm. I wasn't expecting any sprouts yet probably tomorrow evening at the earliest.

Alright guys after a very busy day off yesterday I made some progress on this project!!

I woke up late got a tattoo then went to the big orange home improvement place to pick up materials to build the first flower bed. The materials were about $60 but most of the smaller items can be used to make 3-5 of these boxes before refil is needed.

Materials list:
4'x8'x1/2" plywood- one sheet per box
1- 8' 4"x4" post
3x 4packs of 4" corner braces
1 package of plastic drop cloth
1lb box of 2" drywall screws
Bottle of Elmer's wood glue

I will post pictures of the build process and the final product tonight or tomorrow. I took pictures throughout the process as me and my brother built it. The box fits perfect in my 3x3 tent and I'm getting even more excited about this grow.

Anyone have any input about the genetics I'm growing? I'm wondering mostly about the OG13 and sour Jack I haven't seen much about either of them any info would be great. Thanks everyone have a smoking good day.

Update on my seedlings. All but the last LSD popped the ground. All 3 freebies did as well. Just waiting for the last LSD and the purple bag seed to pop and I'll be good to go! I'm going to keep the humidity dome on until the plants all touch it then I'll transplant into 16 oz plastic cups for a couple weeks before topping and cloning. Then I'll transfer them to the flower bed after that. Still can't post pics from my phone but I'll be at a computer sometime this weekend.
