Me Again ! Nute burn (I think) affecting all leaves. No idea what to do. HELP !

Ok I've been on this site asking for help for a few weeks, and being the impatient ass I can be, I offended some people and would like to apologize, I am just not sure what to do with this plant.

I took her out of Scotts Potting Soil w/ MG Perlite in 2 gallon and transplanted (root bound) into 5 gallon container with FF Ocean Forest about 10 days ago. She was 20" at the time. I took her out of the Scotts/ MG soil becuase she started slightly burning and I read so many bad things about it I didn't want her to keep getting worse. However, since I put her in FF Ocean Forest her leaves have been burning like crazy, first it was just the bigger leaves, now even new growth is affected, and leaves all over the plant are showing spots in middle and burnt edges, even the smaller ones. The thing I don't understand, is while the plant's health is declining, she has grown to 32" since. That's 12" since she has been burning.

I have noticed that I have to water her less as the root ball remains moist way after the surroundING soil dries out, and I think this is a big part of the problem. I have not added any nutes yet, and I'm keepin her in direct sunlight for 12-14 hours and under CFL when sun goes down for 4-5 hours, with 6 hours of darkness. Another part of hte problem is that I did not add any perlite or anything to the Ocean Forest soil because she was so root bound I did not want to wait any longer for transplant.

I'm not sure if I should try and add some no nutrient perlite, re-transplant and tease the rootball a little, just wait it out, or what. I wanted to put her into flowering but I was waiting for the transplant shock to get better, but its getting worse so I really have no idea what to do.

LEAVES ALSO FEEL EXTREMELY DRY AND PAPERY.

^^^^killing them with kindness is what he means^^^^

but seriously leave it alone at this point

  • scroglodyte is right

Problems with FF were in small plants for the most part

    Yours looks mature
  • Oh and stop watering it roots need a reason to search
  • whats done is done let her be and clip off the burnt foilage if it is bothering you

At this point I'd let her fight it out with the nuted soil. You should of used 20% or more perlite to give the soil more air so the root ball would have dried out quicker. I think myself and others advised you of this but I understand not having available perlite and the need to transplant quickly. I had this issue on one of my first FFOF grows. The burning will stop but then the point where when you need to add nutes becomes harder for a beginner.
Not adding dolomite lime may also cause pH issues down the road as the lime stabilizes the soil as the FFOF doesn't come with enough of a Ph buffer in the bag.
I've seen worse survive and flourish. That last pic looks great.
Did you ever get a pH meter? If so what is the pH of the runoff after you water?
Have you been using CalMag?

I bought a garbage Ferry Morris digital ph meter, soil said 6.7, runoff said 6.7, but I did get a few high readings, 7.5, 7.6 in wet soil. It is not reliable at all. I can't buy a 50$ meter right now, maybe in a few weeks. How else can I check ph?

Right now I only have MG perlite with time released nutes so I didn't want to use that, maybe I'll pick up some perlite with nothing in it and add it on top of soil, not sure if that will do anything though.

I have not added ANY nutrients at all to this plant, when I started her with the Scotts Potting soil I went in and hand picked every single thing out that wasn't soil, so she was probably sensitive which is why I'm thinking Ocean Forest affected such a mature plant so much. I have happy frog high phos bat guano and big bloom but I won't add anything for another 2 weeks or so depending on how the plant looks.

@herb&suds...I'm not clipping off any leaves. The plant can't be using too much energy to save them if its still growing vertically and I just don't like the idea of wasting the stored energy in leaves.
