Medical in Montana

Montana is still fairly new with mmj legislation and is still dealing with a lot of gray areas, as to where shops can be, public use, legal limits, etc. Does other mmj states still deal with these types of issues, or do they have resolutions. Just kinda wondering how others think that Montana and other states are dealing with arising issues.8-)

Well let's see...

California... the state that pretty much started it all, is over-run with MMJ users and dispensaries. Legalization is even on the ballot for November...so that might shake things up even further. A lot of busts on dispensaries and DEA crack downs in the making.

Colorado... almost the same, but a few cities have passed ordinances against MMJ now, even though we are the only state with an amendment (#20) to our state constitution.
The politicians have smelled blood (money) and are making power grabs every day. I expect it to get crazier before it gets better though. It was o.k. for the first 2 years...then it all went to hell. :(

Cannot really say about the other states, other than the focus seems to be intent on NOT letting patients grow their own. Again, more power grabs. :(

Montana is allowing a user 6 plants and their caregiver to have six plants. I like the idea of user growing their own as it is immensely cheaper, but it would be difficult to ultimately regulate and tax. They are some cities that have regulated that no shops near schools, churches, government buildings, and other cities that are in moratorium not allowing shops until they can decide what, when and where.

There are big changes on the horizon in MT. One being, potentialy a $10,000+ registration fee for Cargivers/Dispensaries. Right now there is a loophole that allows out of staters to get cards in MT, expect that to close. There are talks of requiring a second opinion to get a Med Card. They are going to tighted up alot of things. Right now we have the loosest/greyest laws of any state. But we also voted for MMJ higher than any other state. 62% for!!!!
