Bagseed

400W HPS/MH light system, 160 cfm fan for outtake/intake. Air cooled hood. FF Ocean Forest Soil. Plants are 14 days old from a seed. 1 for sure has a SEVERE nitrogen def. I have a cheap soil php tester u stick in, and its readying right under 7.... But the run off from the plants is testing at 6 or lower.

The bigger plants are ok, but one of them has leaves that are starting to twist and darken in color. The other kinda sags just a big. I tested their runoff and its 6 or below.

I decided to nute at 1/4 strength with the organic ff big bloom last nite. They seem to look a little better. I hit the severe nitro plant with a 1/4 dose of grow big, and its looking kinda diff. Cant tell if its better/worse yet.

Temps 70-78 constant lights off/on, humid is at 40-48%.Lights are 18-6 have been that way since 11/13. The light is about 10-11 inches away. I find the top portion of the soil is kinda dry daily. I realized i wasnt pouring enough water in when i was wtering, now i water until their is run off. Please help me out

nitro def plant

Now in an hour or so im gonna run and get a actual no shit npk ph SOIL tester. Then im gonna test the soil and /raise/lower the ph accordingly. That should clear up this issue and the nutes should be fine because im using ocean forest soil. I will start regular nutes (non organic) next week. Please help me out and any suggestions pointers will be greatly appreciated.

over watering/underwatering? The soil is dry for 3 to 4 inches before i water. Im gonna get a soil moisture gauge as well today.

well thanks for the speedy replies. i tested the ph of the soil and its 6.5 i think i got anxious and put the plants in FF ocean forest too soon. Should I try flushing?

wow, great sarcasm. one looks a little small for transplanting, the others under blue light look good, can't really tell the other ones. you can probably wait 2 weeks for nutes.

well i flushed the 2 worst plants. and they are already looking better. The PPM of the soil was around 2000! way too high for seedlings. So i flushed and the ppm got down to around 400.

those aren't Nitrogen deficient, looks like Sulfur or MG to me.

in N deficient seedlings....first little fake leaves(calydons or w/e) will turn yellow and move upward to the first 2 real fan leaves...UPWARD until they reach the top of the plant.

S deficient plants show yellow NEW GROWTH instead of bottom growth.

+ They are just babies, no more nutes, let them dry out a bit and see what they do.
when seedlings have micronutes from the beginning they don't show any yellowing, regardless of age, they have enough NPK in the calytdons do hold them for the first couple nodes, then you add your Grow Big/n-PPP-k starter nutes(kicks the roots off)

I use the entire fox farm lineup in my soil grows, but for the first week after the first node is created i use a 'seedling starter' 10-53-10 formula, my method slows VISABLE PLANT GROWTH down and forces the plant to grow a huge root mass. my plants only have 2-3 nodes by the time they're fully rooted in their 5x5" containers....BUT....they can now absorb SO MUCH more nutrients without burning, they just kick into overdrive to accomodate for the root mass :D, its a SLIGHTLY slower way to grow but I have a veg room and flowering room with a 2 month interval between harvests...thats 2 months to refine my babies before they flower :), so I'm in no rush...I let my roots grow.

You don't have to worry about getting rootbound in ur seedling pots doing my method because when u switch to ur NNN-p-k VEG nutes, roots stop growing almost COMPLETELY and foliage starts!
