do you think it would work with a glycerin tincture?
yes it would work with a glycerin tincture, either vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol, i would opt for propylene glycol, why? i just feel thc sticks to PG easier than VG. the PG tinctures ive gotten always seen stronger than the VG's... youd basically want to follow alcohol tincture recipe replacing the alcohol with PG but there is one slight "problem"... you need heat to get the THC to stick so after you have decarbed your bud and powdered it mix it in with the PG following the same rule as the alcohol tincture, use enough liquid to fully saturate the herb and float it just ever so slightly.
heres where it gets a bit trickier.. get a crock pot or a rice cooker or a double boiler for the stove. Which ever you are using (stove or rice cooker/crock pot) should be set on the LOWEST temperature, we dont want to torch the tincture. I shoud also add that you should be monitoring the temp with a candy thermometer just to be extra safe. Cook this for 6 hours MINIMUM, preferably 8+ though. The PG should start turning a darker color after a bit and some people say when it stops getting dark that its maxed out with THC but i simply dont believe this and havent seen any evidence to support it, although it may be out there somewhere...
next comes the fun part, strain your tincture through a cheesecloth (after its cooled for a minute!!!!) and get all the extra left behind. take a dropperful under the tongue to test it out. if you used chronic nugs and monitored the temps good you should have a moderate to high potency tincture.
this tincture can be used as e cigarette refill liquid, oral/nasal drops, food and beverage, and one of my favorites, topical creme! mix your tincture with petrol jelly, menthol and camphor for the most amazing pain creme youll ever use anywhere. the best part about it is you can make individual doses at whatever potency you wish!!
