I grew Mexican bagseed once. Was actually surprised by the results. Turns out the quality issue lies more with farming techniques than the genetics. Who would have thought just letting plants go to seed and putting wet buds in a trash compactor would affect quality.
It didn't have an impressive yield but it was surprisingly potent compared to the bag it originally came out of.

Yea man it's pretty crazy when you think about it. My cousin use to always tell me "it all depends on the grower" and i never really got that till now. This lady smells like some kind of kush no lie

Mexi bag seed was often incredible in the 80s and early 90s. My guerilla growing started with bagseed and turned into guerilla breeding beautiful Mexican landrace plants, I'm so disappointed in my younger self for not saving some of those seeds from each generation. Dumb kid, never crossed my mind.

The issue was with how it was grown and harvested back in the day. They'd just grow it in fields. Males and females. Then chop it all down and package it up seeds, stems, and all. It would get moldy and some of it was even sprayed with paraquat thanks to the US war on drugs. If grown and harvested differently you can get some damn good weed. It's too bad so many landraces around the world are being contaminated by imported hybrids.
