Michigan Fat Buds

Figure I will start a grow journal since I always search forums to answers for my grow problems.

I flipped over to bud at the beginning of this month, the girls have small nugs on them. I am growing 10 different strains under a 600w light. 6 of the strains are just little autoflower plants that do not look very promising so far. The shortest plant, "New York City", has the fattest nugs so far. I believe they are 6 weeks old, they started from Seed. I have a 2 month veg Ghost Train Haze that looks pretty promising but just started forming buds. Growing a White Rhino from clone with 1 month veg. Have a 1 month veg from seed "Vintage 2006", a free seed I got from an order. A friend gave me a clone from a plant he claimed was "Blueberry", has the most and best sized nugs so far. It has a bit of nutrient burn and I am using a lot less than the manufacturer recommended. If I was to follow their nutrient calculator all my plants would be dead. I give a lot less nutrients than they recommend and still get good results. I am using heavy 16 nutrients. Bud A&B at the moment along with "Fire".

I have not had any trouble with mites. A grower I know tried to pass a mite infected plant onto me, not sure if on purpose, but I inspected it with my microscope before transporting to find it had the little jerks and trashed it. I have had a problem with what I think is powdery mildew, which was introduced to my grow room through the Ghost Train Haze clone that was given to me from a friend who grows out in his shed. Peroxide and water seems to help but I am worried about what it will do to the buds and their taste. I seen a Jorge Cervantes video where he does a peroxide/water dunk at harvest so I am guessing it can't be too bad. For some reason spiders love the canopies and make homes in my grow room until they get a nice peroxide bath when I spray for powdery mildew. Its like a boneyard for spiders.

Next season I am growing 12 flavors of Kush, I have 6 seeds picked out and ordered already. Girl Scout Cookies looks like it will be pretty tasty. I want to start fresh from seed in a sterilized grow room to get rid of these problems I keep getting from donated clippings.

For a grow medium I have 4 single bubble buckets and 2 "four banger" bubble buckets. Growing in clay pellets I think, they are kind of annoying because the plants don't stand up well so I run stakes through them. Every week I wash the roots of excess nutrients and run water through them for 24 hours. I call it my flush day. My grow room is small and cramped so I am going to do a vertical grow next season. Have 250$ saved so far for pvc parts and a pump. Need to get some net pots in bulk. Does anyone know what size net pots I should get for a month veg plant? And how far apart should I have the net pots along the pvc pipe? Also, what size pvc pipe so I dont get a big clog and a flood? I have no idea what size of pump to get either.

For air exhaust I have a carbon filter and a pretty powerful 6 inch fan. My intake air is just a 6 inch inline fan that keeps schreeching at random moments. Cleaned it and I still don't understand what is wrong with it. Wakes me up out of sleep. Ordered a new one to replace it, hopefully it doesn't start a fire or stop before I get it. I have a rotating wall fan set on medium that circulates the air. The plants seem to be happy with the air exchange and the filter keeps the smell down. When you are in my house you can definitely smell drank growing but a step out the door and you cannot smell a thin; so I am pretty happy with it. I have an inline light that keeps cool and is connected between the air filter and the exhaust fan.

This is the Ghost Train as of today. I have her growing in a canopy style think its called Bonsai or something. I have no other pics because my camera died after taking this one so more pics is on my to do list. I think I will take a pic every week so you guys can watch the nugs grow.

This is my little grow box in the wall of my house. Not much but it gives me more than enough smoke to last. Going to grow vertically next season to utilize more space. Buds just started taking off, hopefully it will be a good harvest in July. Sorry the pics aren't great I am using an old digital camera.

White Rhino bud. Fattest bud so far but blueberry has the longer buds.

New York City Automatic, really stocky auto with biggest bud of the autos so far. I will not grow autos after this season unless I can get a caregiver license and grow 24 of them. They produce dank ass bud but so little.

My light. 600 watt digital inline. Keeps pretty cool. Buds turn out ok. Once I get some $ saved I am going to put a 1000 w in this little box and really pop them bitches.

Blueberry from clone. Got a bit of nutrient burn. Has always been a sensitive plant since the beginning but the buds are taking right off.

Another clump of some autos. I just fit them in amongst the bigger plants.

Vintage 2006 from seed with some small buds starting. It is a hardy plant like the White Rhino, doesn't get nutrient burn easily like the Blueberry and Autoflowers.

Shit I forgot a pic of the Ghost Train! Oh well, it hasn't changed much from the previous post. Plus I have a fat joint of a strain called "Goo" waiting. Packed with resin and really potent.

Can some one help me identify if this is powdery mildew? It is like a white film growing on the leaves of my plants. As it progresses it looks like bits of salt or sugar on the leaves. Sorry about the shitty pics. The leaf was a shittier looking one so I plucked it because it is so hard taking a pic under the bud light. I thought powdery mildew grew in patches or blotches, as it did on my friends, but this grows evenly like a film. Wipes off easily like powdery mildew though. I wiped it off one of the right leaf petals, as you can kind of see in the third picture. My biggest plant had it when I got it as a clone and I always just thought of it as powdery mildew and have been keeping it controlled with peroxide.
