Minimum Seed # for Selection?

If I want to find a desirable mother plant how many seeds should I start with? With genetics its a crapshoot but on average half will be male. How many females is adequate for a good selection?

there really is no answer to that question if you start with 1 plant there you go if its a she there you go...Plant 20 minus the 10 males now you have 10 females to look and see which is the strongest...
