MMJ for Heart Health & Other Oddities

I have heard it all now. Here's my story, now let's hear yours.

New patient, maybe. Someone I know who has never partook of the pleasurers of good MJ. Always had a really bad drinking problem. Caught the flu a few years ago and the virus attacked his heart. Then had multiple heart attacks. Couldn't stop drinking. Drinking affected his heart and it deteriorated. Flash forward to this week.

I get a call. His cardiologist tells him to quit drinking or adios, said something about Sudden Death Syndrome and defibrilators. He told his doc that he loved a buzz and asked if MMJ would hurt his heart. Doc said no, that it was much better for him than alcohol and eating it was better than smoking it. Doc said he'd sign the paperwork but wasn't sure if it is a covered illness and that he has never heard of a person having a heart attack from weed. But he implied that alcohol will kill you if you imbibe too much.

So here is a cardiologist suggesting to a patient that MMJ is better than alcohol! That doing weed will keep him alive longer than if he does beer and liquor. Who knew?

And let's hear some other odd and unusual MMJ stories.

we have legalized medicinal marijuana here in ak, but it sucks there is no dispensaries, and the list of qualifying ailments is a lot shorter than say cali's.

So, MMJ can be a treatment for severe alcoholism? Wow. That should be in every newspaper!!!

The health problems caused from drinking are much more servere than anything eating marjauna is going to do.
I think this doctor should get the Doc. of the year award...it's the best advice ever.
I have personally watched 2 alcoholics, who would probable be dead now, turn their lives around and stop drinking themselves to death.
I don't think it would of happened if they didn't have MMJ to help them through...( although, one of them is still a lazy fatass...at least his liver is still fuctioning..lol..).
I don't think alcholoism can get you a card yet, but it's got my vote...I can't stand drunks.

...fuck-it, I changed my mind...let them all drink themselves to death, then we don't have deal with them at all...save the good weeds for people who are really sick, or in pain...

The few successful recovering alcoholics I know all smoke like fiends. Part of the 12 step system I guess!

I'd rather have them high on weed than driving drunk.
