Molasses Question

I have become interested in molasses due to all the good things I read about it. My questions about the molasses are how much molasses would you mix with the water, can you use molasses when you are "flushing" the plant with pure water, and is it all worth it?

I also have chosen to go with Jack's Dynamic Duo for my fertilizer, hopefully it aids me well.

Why do you stop 2 weeks before harvest? Thats the most important time to be using it.

The way I understood it, molasses is organic so it can not be absorbed by plants directly without being broken down by microbes first. With hydro you generally want to keep a sterile res, unless you are doing bio buckets. Adding molasses to a sterile res would only pollute it and invite root disease.

Just what i've gathered from reading.

That makes sense, but I'm doing a soil grow. I read information about people who stop giving nutes a few weeks before they harvest but would I have to stop with molasses? And does this make a noticeable difference, as in is it worth the effort?

You do not want to use molasses in A hydro setup nothing but bad things will happen.
As far as everybody using mollases with soil I feel it dont benefit much or at all if so.

Yes you should keep using it and yes, its worth it, otherwise we wouldnt all do it.
It's main benefits are that it helps feed microbacteria in your soil that through their digestion process take stuff the plant couldnt orwould have difficulty absorbing into easy for the plant to absorb things. It also contains some trace elements and some small levels of nutrients which helps you make it through the flush w/o it messing up the plant if it start running out of things it still needs to early.
