mold on cooking soil?? Pics!!!

I've been cooking a batch of organic soil for about 8 days now, turning it over every few days... Got up to mix it up a lil today and this is what it looked like... Not sure if this is okay or if I should ditch the whole batch... the white spots were only on the top layer of soil.. Any knowledge helps!!! Sorry I can get pics to load, not sure why, but the soil basically looks like it has Small flat cotton balls spotted on top...

white fuzz is mycelium fungi. Very beneficial. It breaks everything down pretty quick.

Keep the soil just barely moist enough so that when you compress a fistful the soil stays as a small ball. But when you poke the soil ball, it falls apart. That's a good indicator that you have just the right moisture level for this. I liked covering the soil with a cloth while cooking. This is also a good time to introduce nematodes, BTI dunks, crab shell, etc for pests

Is crab shell similar to oyster shell? I added some crushed and ground oyster shell in the initial mix...

Not the same. Crab, lobster, shrimp and insects all have a Chitin exoskeleton. That's what you want. Oyster shell is Calcium

I think it would depend if it's pasteurized maybe. Which I don't know if roots is or not. I've seen it In some m3 mix.
