Money Maker / C99 5th Week - Small Problems!

Hi RIU,

My journal is at https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/746838-money-maker-c99.html.

I am growing 5 MM and 2 C99. I'm not sure which is which, got seedlings muddled up and will have to wait and see.

I have just switched from a proper 125w CFL to a 600w HPS for vegging. It is really hot in there, about 27/28 hitting 30 at times. Problem is I cant have my fan on full cos it is too loud. I will build a box for it first thing. It makes a loud whining sound.

I am growing in coco and have only started feeding at 1/4 strength. I fed them 3 days ago and the plants are definitely growing.

The thing is 2 of them are really short compared to the others. I have got pics in the journal.

The leaves are a bit droopy and wilting. I don't know why this is my first time. The 5 taller plants have 4 sets of true leaves with the 5th developing.

These two seem to have only 3 and the 4th developing.

Also when I had a look under the pots, I could see some roots trying to make the way out of the small drainage holes.

They are in 13cm deep square pots. I was hoping to use this then switch to 18L/30L pots but thats not for a couple of weeks yet. Should I do this now? I think the problem is when I potted Root Riot cubes in these pots I had to put them quite deep cos my seedlings were lanky. So these cubes were put in the bottom half atleast of the pot.

There's one pic, there's more in the journal and the link is at the top of this post.

Have a look guys, any feedback would be appreciated.

Also I don't know how but a big fly got in to my tent. I cannot see how but are there any precautions I can take. I had this sticky thing that caught this fy. Nasty shit shall I dispose of it?

Thanks

the pot size is fine for the size of the plant, if you go too big it's easy to overwater. They look a little on the hot side.

There goes the heat stress and hvac can be reduced to smaller quieter fan for circulation

You are wasting money and bulb life running a 600W on that small plant, use some CFLs a couple weeks and grow some foliage.

You reckon they should still be under CFL? The pic above is one out of 7, the others are far taller and bigger.
