Even though Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa signed the first medical cannabis ordinance late Wednesday (Feb 3), a second ordinancefocused on a fee structure has to be passed by the council and signed by the mayor before these laws are valid.
There are two parts to LAs Medical Cannabis Ordinance. The first part took over 4 years to draft, approve, and get signed by the mayor. The second ordinance has not even had one public hearing yet, nor has one been scheduled.
