More Heat

you guys think if I put a piece of plastic or glass inbetween a HPS bulb and the top of the canopies it would reduce the heat...if the outtakes were placed above the glass??
 
I think the glass and the bulb need to be inclosed with the exaust fan

I read a post that it needs to be flat glass

O YEAH,. wat kind of clear material should I get?????????????????????????

Glass definitely, I would be afraid of plasitic melting, plus theres always the chance of it inhibiting light. Thickness shouldn't matter really. I suppose anything about as thick as a window maybe a little less would do it
