Hi All - This is my first grow. I have one nice bubblicious that has sprouted and already has 4 leaves, it looks good.

I had some other seeds that failed to germinate after 72 hours so I decided to put them in soil and water and hope for the best. It's been 24 hrs and I am impatient so I moved some soil to look at the seeds(I know probably not smart but I am really disappointed with the germination:-(). Two of them nothing but one is halfway cracked and all I can see is green, a leaf, no root at all. I put it back just under the soil and watered. My question is what should I do to improve my chances of this one taking root or is this guy doomed too?

Thanks in advance!

It might still sprout. I doubt it, but if you have the room leave it in the soil a few more days and see what happens.

If your sowing to soil you might be doing a couple of things wrong. soils to wet, planting to deep.
If your buying your seeds you should have a good germination rate. close to 100%

If things are going south. I'd go back to the Germination Process.
Get a rooting solution, like General Hydroponics Rapid Start, use it from The Start of germination to about 3 weeks of the plants life.
Soak for 12-24hrs. seeds will drop to the bottom of the rooting solution.
moist paper towel, in a warm place 24-48 hours.
Germination--> Plant.

use tweezers and plant the germinated seed flush with the top of the soil. you don't need to plant a germinated seed below the soil. Allways flush with the soil.

I soak my seeds in a shot glass for a few hours.

Then I put a folded paper towel on a small plate and pour the shot glass with seeds inbetween the towel. Then the plate and seeds go into a ziplock bag. Store in a dark place until seeds crack open and show a bit of tail.

Then gently into soil about as deep as the seed is wide.
