Mother and Clone Light Questions

Hey everyone, so I have figured out I wanna do a SoG grow, I'll need roughly 32 plants every 3 weeks. I'm planning on having roughly 3-4 mother plants, that way I can pick the best looking stems and be able have back up mothers starting.

My question is what kind of lights should I use for mothers, and what wattage?

I've read MH or Fluor's are good for them, are there any positive or negative aspects from them?

For clones, I've read Fluor's are the best.

Which ones are better T5's or T8's? How many watts should I have for 32 plants every 3 weeks (Maybe 40 just in-case some die)?

I have my four mothers under a 400w mh and my clones sit under 4' flouros in the same room. I keep my mothers fairly large and they seem to love the light. As far as how many watts for 32 plants, depends on how big your pots are and your style of grow. I use 6L square pots and I only veg them for one week after they come out of my clone dome. They stay extremely small and end up being just one main cola plants. I have 50 plants under 2 400w hps lights. Hope this helps.

I think a 400 HPS for mothers, the hps gives you thicker stems for better success rate and a very small cfl for the clones about 20-25w only.

for your mothers I would run MH, the color spectrum is more suited to a vegging plant. For your babies, you can run them under flouros until you move them to flower. I would suggest 4 footers if you have the room.

As said above, the wattage for your moms depends on the size, I would recommend between 4-600.

you can get away with a t5 for mothers,but i would go with hps and just either a flouresent tube set up for clones.all though the plants can be kept in the same room because the clones and mother will both be on the same lighting scedule,If you are wanting to produce plenty of clones then there are two things that you can do mother and clone like you said above or you can clone each of the plants you have take 1 of each plant then place them under t5 or flouro till rooted this will mean no need for mother plant just clone.i take a clone of each one of my plants just before i flip them to 12/12 off 7/12 days later you have clones,if you do this it leaves you a few week to prep them for when there ready to go then just repeat the process a few days before the clones taken of your 1st lot are put into flowertyke ;-]you need plants every 3 week mother under 600 hps at least 3/4 and just put new cut clones into cubes then into propagator and into one of the corners of the mother room,unless you want a cloneing room then a t5 will do or cfl its heat more than light the clones will need
