was sitting here debating on my current grow of 2 Royal Kush seedlings and a Juicy Fruit clone.

i want to eventually get a perpetual grow going and was wondering typically how many mothers are people keeping for a particular strain?

Do you keep 1 and just keep cutting off it?

Do you keep multiple?

Do you not keep anything and take your cuttings mid veg or flower and cycle there?

Kind of a personal preference IMO, any mother plant requires some special considerations and extra space. I don't use a mother unless I've come across a particularly wonderful strain that I wish to constantly bring to flower. For the most part, I like experimenting with a wide variety of genetics. I bring in clones and seeds as such, but a perpetual grow could certainly benefit from a mother, thus allowing for a source of clones at any given time.
