Moved from greenhouse to 1000 watt HPS indoors

I had a dozen plants in the greenhouse. They were getting 3-4 hours direct, hot sun. I had to scrap that idea and move everything indoors. Some of the plants are 6 feet tall and they are all in huge pots (10 plus gallons). all different varieties ( bubba kush, w. Widow, super lemon haze, straw cough, cheese, kings kush, mp5k x mr. Nice shit, pineapple express).

I put them all under a 1000 watt HPS and set it for 12/12, crowded into a 6x6 space. I tied some down, and raised up the smaller ones to create an even canopy. It's going to be a challenge to keep them under the light as they are still growing like crazy.

My question is, how much of a yield difference do you think there will be? I mean I think I would have gotten a LOT if they were left in the greenhouse. Will I get substantially less under the 1000 watt light?

Any suggestions for a successful harvest of these monsters?

OK, since these plants are huge I tied a lot of tops down. Do you think it would help if I installed a screen over the top of the canopy? I just want to get as much out of these as possible, since they can't finish in the greenhouse as planned.

I know someone must have some advise....

All I want to know is the difference between 8 plants (average 5 foot tall, in 10 gallon buckets' soil) in a greenhouse vs. under the 1000 watt hps indoors. Half the yield of the greenhouse (even though they only got 3-4 hours strong sunlight) ? Maybe the same yield since they now get 12 hours of hps? Would a screen help keep them away from the light better that tying them down?

Anyone?

yea i think a screen would help, i have my plants inside under a 400watt HPS now, they where outside plants for a while but i couldnt hide them good enough wjen they got taller

i have problems with LIGHT BURN alot (3+times) i finally just put the damn light about 3 feet abovr the tops, they have being doing great ever since (no stretching, heat stress)
about the difference in yeild, i have no idea, i dont think it matters much

Yea, I may just set up a screen to see how it goes. It's unruly under that light now.

Thanks for the reply. Can anyone take a guess at my greenhouse vs hps yield question? It really doesn't matter, I guess I am just curious. I had high hopes for the greenhouse yield...

no idea on your yield, I'd suggest you do A LOT of lower leaf pruning. The biggest problem with large plants indoor is light penetration. Instead of pruning 1/3rd I'd lean closer to half. The screen is a good idea to level the canopy and let you get your light as close as possible. Sounds like you're not afraid to do some pain in the ass work, might be worth your time to install some supplemental cfls a foot or two down from the top of the canopy ( i hope that makes sense )

Thanks for that suggestion. I am certainly going to prune the lower branches. I did not even think of that. And I guess a screen will also help. I hated to have to resort to this, but it's better than nothing!

Hi, I don't know what your situation is but if you are having to move the light up because some of your plants are taller than others, you could try doing some low stress training to create an even canopy. I find this method great! I grow for variety so i always have many different shapes and sizes in my grow space, and a bit of L.S.T always keeps them even. You can also train your plants out, making bushier plants which increases yield as light is able to get to the lower parts of the branches.
