It's always been a dream of ours to move to the US. i have a trade so i have something to offer but would love to no weather i would be let in with a criminal record.
Anyone know the ins and outs of the visa's and stuff.

From where? A criminal record will generally bar you from entry. John Lennon was barred for years because of his UK pot arrest and a contest winner from Canada was not allowed entry to claim his Stupid Bowl tickets and seeing the game for the same reason.

Tuff one. You would be best to speak to an American immigration lawyer. I met one and discussed with him the very same thing and he said that due to how old the convictions where that it would probably be possible. I think if you were going over to set up your own business as well then it makes it easier.
I think going down the general Green card application will be difficult.

How'd you know he was French? JK. I think you need to listen to DST and contact a really good attorney to handle this. He would hopefully have the contacts and be able to promote your trade skills and military service to your advantage. Cheerio!! (just had to say that)
