Mushrooms!?

these one inch or so mushrooms are popping up just in one planter. I have scooped them out once already. They have not spread to the other planters yet. about a day or two before they popped up one of the seedlings in this pot started to get brown spots, again the other plants are fine, except for one that has curling on the edges... but of the six 4 are fine. I read on another site that ph may be too high, but as I do not have a soil ph kit I dont know. I am using MG micromax soil and watering with 6.8 ph water. No other nutes at the moment. they are only about 11 days since they germed.

The white spots are from baking soda... i read on another site that if i upped the ph a little it would kill them. apparently that is the opposite of what I should have done.

growing under CFLs, btw.

anyway any tips would be appreciated. this is my first grow.

with some further research, mushrooms are not a big deal when they pop up in your pot. In fact they are helping break down any large decaying matter in the soil which creates a boost to CO2. The only fungus that you should really worry about seems to be mold on the actual plant.

i had mushrooms grow in my pot also.i couldn't find anything bad about having them in there. when i would see one i would just pull it out. they pop up out of know where.this went on for about a month then stoped. but i guess it not really a bad thing.

You should try to increase your ventilation, pick the shrooms out, then spray the top of the soil with some neem oil. The ventilation is the most important thing. I had shrooms too when i was using MG soil, and they didn't hurt anything, they were just annoying.lol

Mushrooms won't affect your plant, unless they are a parasitic species, which as far as i am aware of don't affect dioeceous plants.
The mushrooms' spores were probably in the soil before you even started your plants, and didn't grow because they lacked the necessary moisture.
If you pick them before they have the chance to drop spores, the spore bank in the soil will eventually run dry and they will no longer grow.

I had the same thing happen last year. I kept them and dried them. Are they magic, poisonous or eatable. I wont do either of the three but just wondering?

Probably safe to eat but definitely not hallucigenic. Just a common fungus dude. Pscilocybin (magic mushrooms) grow under specific conditions. Usually found wild on cow poops and in certain forests. I wouldn't eat em. Just kill em so you don't have to deal with pickin em out so often. Imo

Same thing happened in my outdoor grow last year.. one little shroom popped up in the pot, pulled it out and it never came back. Nothin to worry about really, just a little buddy there to hang out with your lady.

Actually johnny, its impossible to tell what kind of mushroom that is from the picture quality; the general shape looks like a young psilocybin mushroom.
Either way, its probably not edible, and you should NEVER eat mushrooms you are uncertain about.
