Project 2025 seems to be the roadmap, cuts to education, EPA, health research, medicare, DVA, social security....

I just feel Musk's influence combined w/the fact that he is UNELECTED and ran no for Fed. Govt. position eye popping,what precedent does it set that billionaires can latch on to a Pres's coat-tails through contributions and be picked to run a unofficial Govt accounting "office"? I'm not naive and no damn well influence peddling has always been in the closet,BUT THIS. Musk is a brilliant human being but these people usually carry some serious eccentricities,not to mention there is something strange and dark concerning Musk IMO.

Hopefully Trumps anti birthright stance, means musk will have to go back to South Africa.
Yeah if only NASA wasn't relying heavily on him for their space program,seen a no. (I'm not positive exactly) that he's building rockets at 30X less than it would cost NASA. The type of bureaucratic corruption that has the Pentagon spending 500$ on a galvanized screw,problem is he thinks he can apply his no rules/cruelty to federal employees, the private sector lean mean efficiency machine applied to our Fed Govt. without seized gears, chaos, and blowback. Wonder if income tax refunds will be on time in 2025 and our elderly SS recipients are relegated to eating porridge while waiting for their funds to arrive.

Not American, but it blows my mind this is what America wanted. And if it's not what America wanted, all it took was the false promise of cheaper eggs and and demonizing the gays for a billionaire and his buddies to steal the most powerful country in the world. It's a scary thought. He's already walked back cutting the price of groceries but still fully intending on giving corporations another 15% tax cut.

I am. My opinion, we should all be aware of who is elected in other parts of the world.
If Victor Orban or Marine Le Pen were elected in Canada or Mexico, I would be worried.

It's not that Musk scuttled a bipartisan deal, he is lying about the contents of the bill setting off the firestorm of calls to representatives to kill the bipartisan budget deal.
Bipartisanship, coming together, deciding what is best for all Americans is democracy in action.
I'm a middle of the road, slightly right leaning registered voter. I've voted for both Democrats and Republicans.
Please, before you blindly accept what someone is saying, do your own due diligence. Not doing so is how we got into this mess. Don't believe the first article you read. Read several articles then go with the consensus.
A govt. shutdown is not good for anyone. Especially when based on half truths and outright lies.

People in silos,dearth of reliable vetted print media w/sources(multiple) overseen by a editor and a ombudsman who value TRUTH and retract when wrong,BS online "news" that is algorithm driven is LARGELY responsible for how we ended up here IMO. I'm in a city of 95K in MA and my cities newspaper is a shell,no paid reporters,a complete stripped down joke on a local level I'm pretty much out of the loop and nationally where not in much better shape.

Apologies for the lame sports analogy. I feel better when my team wins than I do when they lose. However, I'm not a win by nay means necessary kind of guy. If it was found they won by cheating, I'm out. Done.
There needs to be checks and balances. Too many people are saying things that are flat out lies and it gains traction. I don't get it.
Even when they admit they lied, Haitians eating cats, those that perpetuated the lie can't admit they were wrong.
