my $30 cloner

Haven't been here for a while but this is always the place I come to when I need help. Had trouble recently with cloning and after looking around the board and seeing that temperature is the key for successful cloning this is what my budget allowed.
$10.00 25 watt aquarium heater, $10.00 container, $5.00 LED bulb, ice cube trays. I had the clones in without the heater for nearly two weeks without any progress. The pictures show results after just two days with the heater. I use one of those cheap plastic domes they sell at the hydro shops and have NEVER had a clone fail to root. No magical heat pads or even specific lighting is needed. I personally use the side light from my veg area for my clones. How long are you waiting to let them root and are you tracking humidity? As long as you are patient and give them the right humidity in most cases they will root for you.

no hydro shops here...I used to get good results within two weeks without any special setup but I'm now in Asia with super hot summers but wet, cool winter and spring.

Another thing to consider since it appears you are doing everything right is that some strains don't like being cloned.

How long were they in the cloner? 2 weeks? That they didn't root I mean.

I would think that even with that 1 bulb you have to much heat with that lid on.Try and just hang bulb over and let some air move.You can manage your humidity with spraying when needed.Also did you use any hormone solution,scrape stems,or follow any kind of cloning method?Has that set up worked before?INMO I would get a cheap air pump and convert it to a small bubble cloner.

tried a cheapo bubbler (with a sandstone) before but didn't workout so well. The problem here in the winter is that being in the subtropics, there aren't any insulation in any homes. So it's pretty cool in concrete buildings...

I use a botanicare 25 site.Which is nothing more then water pump and spray tips and do very well.I also take multiple steps in my method and use some additives.I have never cloned any other way either,so what do I know.I do know I built 9 site 5 gal bucket cloner for around 30 bucks and it works great.Every one use pvc ,but I use 1/2 inch hydro tubing and the tips screw in easy with no leaks.Small 1/2 tubing and I dont need a big pump.I only went 9 for my own reasons,but could make it fit more ,depending on how much spacing between your holes you want.I could post pics tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I remember trying to clone big bud and skunk years ago...not much success. On the other hand, I'd swear white widow and blueberry would root just by asking them to...

Have you looked into an ultrasonic fogger? Ive just built a germination setup using one which works great n from what i hear they are good for cloning as well. they get a lil warm in the water but it hasnt affected my germination any. water chillers or a seperate res that pumps it thru to main res can help this. oh yeah n theyre fairly cheap like 15 bucks. avoid the ones with led lights.

This is best I can do right now.The 1/4 hole is for if I want to add air stone for some extra oxygen,you dont have to but I cut my clones 6 to 8 inches long.
2 inch basket with bottom cut out.
