My Adventure Video

well, i had been putting this off for so long. finally got around to going through the hours of footage i had and cracking open adobe premiere to edit some video. i didn't want to include too many people in the videos cause you never know how some people feel about being on the net. this is the first video i've done with premiere. it's crazy. i maybe scratched the surface on what this program is capable of. i used windows movie maker before but that is a really basic program. now with the HD Underwater GoPro's i just got and this software hopefully i'll be able to get some really cool videos up in the coming months. all of these videos are from fishing trips out of playa herradura and golfito in costa rica. hope you guys enjoy.

if anyone else has any tips or uses premiere feel free to post away any cool videos you've made.

What GoPro model did you get? I just started looking at them for my trip down there. I'm coming down in November. Four nights in Belize for the snorkeling and reefs then four nights in Costa Rica for inland adventures. Thanks for your tips on the wet season and diving by the way.

Your fishing looks very fun. I also dig the music choices in the video.

i have 2 HD Hero and i just got 2 HD Hero2 with the Dive Housing. haven't tested them yet but will soon.

Wish I had filmed my adventures. When I did a lot of deep sea fishing in Hawaii in the 90s-00.

i always think the same thing. float around the ocean on cruise control with no predators that i know of. who doesn't like a sea turtle? they will snap your finger off though if you get your hand too close and they are in a bad mood.

we see turtles trapped in longliners all the time. we always try and cut them loose if we can.

thanks lahada, those are mostly sailfish in the underwater pics. marlin are a lot more fiesty. by the time you've fought them on the rod they are pretty tired out though. just started experimenting with these cameras last season. this next season we're going BIG. gonna get a ton of footage. figure out how to do HD video.

Very exciting. I used to fight with Great Titan triggerfish but not by choice as they are seriously scary. I used to do U-turns on the divesite. One got me badly on the ankle once. I've been meaning to buy the Sony UW housing for ages. I wanna take it down - real deep. Like 30M +. I don't have problems equalizing my ears, quite the opposite - I go down head first !!! I've wanted to dive in Honduras ever since I went to Thailand and those waters. Got friends who are Master Instrs in Cayman Islands. Totally different dive experience. My best friend has just got back from Phillipines and she loved it. I have another friend who I've know for yrs (from London) who's there.

thanks refused. all catch and release on billfish. we only keep tuna, wahoo, and dorado. and only what we will eat within the next 24-48 hours.

exactly. it's a legal catch once the mate has his hand on the leader. then we just cut the line right below the swivel. we only use circle hooks so once you relieve the pressure of the line the hook will fall out within a few hours. if not it will rust away in a few weeks. not harmful to the fish.

before when everyone used "J" hooks fish would get gut hooked or back hooked all the time. a lot more fish died just from the hook. i can't remember the last time a fish died on a circle hook that i've seen. rarely happens anywmore.
