My First Grow Closet

So after a long time I just finished my grow closet. It doesn't have a door on it so I figured I would just throw up either a sheet with an emergency space blanket taped to the inside, or maybe JUST the space blanket. There is no exhaust yet, haven't decided if I'm going to install one or just let an oscillating fan bring in air from outside the curtain. There is 12 26w cfls (19200 lumens) in there. The space is about 2 1/2' x 4'. I've also got reflective material on the underside of the board that is fit to size and able to be raised up and down.

I'm picking up some Fox Farm Ocean Forest tomorrow along with a Ph meter. I'm gonna use jiffy cubes/plugs to start the seedlings then transfer.

Let me know what you guys think!

P.S. Please excuse the mess...It will be cleaned/sanitized before the babies go in.

Yes you could finish 4-5 females in there. You DO want exhaust (fan) and intake (passive works fine). I highly recommend this, b/c I did the same thing in about the same sized closet with no exhaust and it really affected the taste of the bud and prolly stressed them out too.

I meant passive intake. That is where you have just 1 good high powered fan blowing out the exhaust through 1 duct, and the intake is fresh air sucked in passively through another single hole or duct. It's best to position your exhaust near the top of the room, and have the passive intake hole near the bottom. This way fresh air pulled in is nice and cool, and the hot air at the top of the closet gets pushed out.

I would definitely consider putting a door on this, once you get them flowering the smell will spread through the house. :)

Just buy a cheap sheet of wood and cut it down to the right size.

You need to think carefully about ventilation as this is often the area most new growers make mistakes in.

Other than that.. happy growing!

You want to be able to connect it to a duct so it will be air sealed so it can push air out through a duct or a hole. I'd go for an inline fan, but the ones at home depot kind of suck. The ones in hydro shops are well worth the money and push a lot of air. With your CFL fixture you won't need much, so you could probably pull off the highest CFM inline duct fan at home depot.
