My First Grow ! Virgin lookin for some feedback

Well, i have recently acquired a clone from a buddy of mine which I am learning to grow day by day. Ive done alot of reading on here and wanted to get some feedback from how it is going. I dont know how old the plant is or what strain it is, I just kinda got it from him stuck it in my windowsill for about a week or so then jimmy rigged a grow room in my basement which is 4 x 4 x 6. Installed a vent in the ceiling of the room with an exhaust fan that takes the air outside. Got a 400w mh or hps ballast and light from work and rewired it so the lamp and ballast were seperate and the ballast is outside the room and the lamp inside. I am now running the plant on an 18/6 cycle with the metal halide and have been doing so around 4 or 5 days now. So here is where the plant is at and I would like any advice on what to do next, like when to flower. Whether i should be pruning the leaves or maybe even some insight into what kind of plant it is. Switching to 12/12 or going into flowering is totally up to you. How tall do you want your plant to grow?
Have you started adding any nutrients yet?

Ya , I started adding nutrients when I put it under the light about 5 days ago or so. I bought some organic fish fertilizer from a local garden shop in my area. I've been adding it to the water every other day. The plant seems to like it and is responding to it well. How much taller will it get when I start flowering. Im going to switch my bulb over to the 400w HPS for the flowering.

Once you flip to 12/12 I'd say your plant will grow 2 to 3 times the start hight. Nice looking plant, you seem to have the touch. Seems to be sativa dominant but could be wrong.

Great, thanks for the info. From that research and reading ive done, I would guess it to be sativa myself just judging from the height and the thinner-ish looking leaves. I might start to flower it soon then to see where it goes and the next plant I will know that much more. Ill keep updating pics as the time goes by, its just some bag seeds so its gonna be a surprise at the finish product.

I would start flowering in 1 week it will end up around 3 feet garanteed

Oh also keep the light around 18inchs from the plant

I'd say with a ceiling of 6 ft. with you lamp taking up maybe 1 to 2 ft you'll have just enough room. good idea to flip to bloom now. You could look into LST ( low stress training ), there are lots of info on the net re: to it. .. Have fun!

Ive grown out a 3 foot tall sativa in veg then put holes all around the put and started bending the bottom stem around the pot made it
a bushy ass plant and in flower is barley got to stretch just got real bushy instead
