Ill post pictures as they sprout. Today is start day. perfect that I landed on the 1st of the month. :P

they are in 85% Miracle Grow and 15% pearlite. I tested miracle grow's ph and it was between 6.5-7.0 so it should be fine. Ill keep an eye on them.

I always knew I'd find a good use for my sewing table. (lol.)

(I also have a question about the light i posted a picture of. I have the flora set up but Im wondering if it would hurt anything to add this one. that bulb is meant for my parrots. its a full spectrum UV light meant to mimic the sun. seems like it certainly wouldnt hurt but I wanted your opinions.)

and how often should i water them while they are sprouting. i thought every 3rd day seemed good. but i wasnt sure if they would need more than that.

You should drop your Ph a little more in my oppinion. i use 100% Miricle grow with enough chemicals to drop it down to 5.9. you can get Foxfarmers at any grow shop that wil do exactly that. Your Parrots light will work depending one the wattage. i asume b/c its meant for birds and not plants it will be a lot less. but throw it on if you want, more light deffinitley wont hurt. and durring sprouting its been my expirence to keep the soil very wet and warm. three days latter might be too long or to short, so just keep en eye on the soil and if the pots dry out givem some more water.

cool thanks. I dont have a grow shop near me. closest is about 45 minutes away and with gas prices Im certainly not justifying a trip just for some dirt. ya know? It should be fine i think.

thanks for the water tips. i dont want to overwater or underwater. so i guess ill add a little when the top of the pot drys out.

well... they are all about 2-4 inches high now. how am i doing??? anything i should know at this stage? tips not to fuck it up?

Ive been watering everyday because the topsoil has been dry. theyve been in the ground since may 1st, so i figure by the 2 week mark would be a good idea to do some sort of every other day watering schedule. does that sound right? or should i water everyday for longer?

anyways. heres some pictures with my new camera. macro mode is beautiful.

Looks great right now!

Be careful with the everyday watering schedule, it could lead to overwatering quickly. Depending on how much water you are adding per day, you might want to switch over to an every-other day watering schedule, and see how the plant reacts.

Keep us posted, and best of luck!

when you water them, pick them up and get the gist of what it feels like when water is in them, and you can tell when they get dry.

Yes everything looks good to me. dont water if the top soil is dry. stick your finger in the dirt about an inch into it. that will give you a better idea. I put wood chips on the soil so I only have to water every 2 or 3 days with my cabinet running around the mid 80's F during the day.

also it looks like you have some T5 lights? are they 4'? Is it a single or double bulb?
Either way if you are going to grow with just T5 lights I would recommend having 4 bulb total for that many plants. Also you will want to get Daylight or pure white bulbs for veg and warm or soft for flower.

Let me know if you would like some links to what Im talking about.

Oh yes and one last thing. Be careful of how hot your closet gets. It doesnt look like you will have any troubles but if it gets into the 90's your little girls could dry up in the course of you going to work.

Good Luck

I have t5's double bulb as well as the small UV sunlight fixture that I had laying around. theres really no more room for another fixture in there unless i use like spotlights. my closet is pretty small.

my room is naturally pretty warm but never into the 90's or 80's. so i dont think ill have that drying out problems.

we are going to invest in a MH light set up, but Im not exactly sure when since the grow shops in our area are about 45 minutes away. it will take a special trip. but eventually we'll be doing that.

Mine went into soil on the 1st of may aswell though they're under the good old mighty sun.
About the same size as yours ´though it has been cloudy and lately not much growth.

hey, its lookin pretty good. you should check into topping when it grows more. check my grow out.https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/67261-pics-both-my-females-4.html
they look great. yeah someone who is helping me learn explained topping to me and i think when it gets to that time we may try it but we do have 10 plants, but 2 are growing on a windowsill at the moment because we dont have enough space and didnt plan for 10 to sprout. anyways, may not need to top since we have so many.

You have a partner in this?... I hate sharing my grow =(

just people guiding me. no one doing any of the work for me though. Im only doing this because I am a caregiver for a medical marijuana user. I actually dont even smoke anymore. although i used to it messes with my anxiety now, so i steer clear of it.

I got a Metal Halide setup today. its a 400watt. anyways. it was sort of a bitch to get working because the reflector was way too big and so i had to basically modify it myself by smashing it to fit inside my closet. it fits now. lol.

I also had to take out the old desk i had in there and makeshift something shorter because the plants were too close to the bottom of the MH light. didnt want them to burn.

anyways, heres some pictures before with the floura lights and after with the MH.

also how should i have my fan going. note the 2nd picture with the fan facing outward. it seems to be circulating the heat out of the closet into my room pretty well but Im not sure if thats a good spot for it or if i should have it somewhere else? keep in mind this is a small fucking closet so my options are limited.

Do you think i should get a second desk fan?

I would say you need a fan for removing heat like you have and one blowing across the canopy of your plants. It would help keep your plants from getting too hot and it would strengthen them also. Good luck with your grow!:blsmoke:

hmmm. with how big that reflector is i cant even get a fan around that thing, but maybe if i stuck fan facing in there blowing up instead of down. it wouldnt be really blowing down on the canopy but it would be blowing air through the plants. would that be enough?

11 days in.
check em out.
they seem to be doing pretty good, but Im not sure about the leaves. do they look okay? seems as though they might be curling. does that mean im overwatering? I have been watering every other day and testing the moisture. i have a moisture tester (so not doing it with my finger). it seems like the metal halide light dries out the dirt alot faster. even an inch and 2 inches in its just on the cusp of wet. by the 2nd day. some days i have watered everyday.

any advice? or am i just paranoid and the leaves look fine? they sure are growing. Ive been seeing about 4+ new leaf sprouts each day.
