Hallo!

My buddy built this flood and drain system as a prototype for a company he's starting and he let me borrow it.

Changing the nutrient water is painless and easy and I gotta say I like having it next to my living room-- it's like my babies are on their throne smiling at me lol

LIGHTS
I have a Lumitec 400W digital ballast with a high-end HPS german bulbin an adjust-a-wing. I will be changing to a 1000w digital ballast soon now that my 5 blueberry babies are starting to grow fast.

I'm about to enter into flower, but I don't have light completely sealed out-- the outdoor season is entering into flower as well;

Question 1: Think I could get away with just setting the light to be on for 10 or 11 hours a day while the sun is up?....

If I do; I feel like the 1000w lamp will heat the area too much; but I live in a dry area (mojave desert) and can keep the swamp cooler running all day; I suspect the area temp to get up to the low 90's at peak-heat of the day, so;

Question 2: Is this too hot? Do I have to figure out a better cooling or exhaust fan... or can I be cheap and just cross my fingers?... they do seem to be some very resilient plants...

As you can see from the picture I had the light too close, I shifted the plant again after taking the picture and raised the lights.

Question 3: Should I 'top' these little buggers?... I understand topping, but I feel like I'll be hurting my babies.

Other Specs: Frame is about 27" W 27" H 48" L, I am using a 400 gallons per hour pump on a 35 min timer to flood for 5 minutes. I have a 15 liter per minute air pump w/ 4 air line connections and 4 2" cylinder air stones. I change the nutrient water about every 6 days and have a reverse osmosis filter for my fresh water.

Thanks y'all
