OK I'm looking for some experienced knowledge Im going to be growing in my

closet
4'4'' by 2'8''

Lighting:
(2) UtiliTech 4-Light 2' x 4' T8 Troffer
Maximum Bulb Wattage (Watts):32.0

Bulbs:
Philips 32 Watt Cool White T8 Fluorescent Lamp

  • Color / Finish : Cool White
  • Color Temperature : 4100
  • Life : 20000 Hr.
  • Lumens : 2800
  • Maximum Wattage Per Bulb : 32
  • Voltage : 120 V.
  • Watts : 32 W.
  • Just shy of Full Spectrum Light
that's about 22,400 Lumen for a 10 squar foot area.

Is this enough for 6 or so plants?

im no expert but that sounds pretty good u could probably do well to have some extra CFLs just for good measure. and make sure ur color temp is around 5500-6500k for veg cycle and then lower 2500-4k bulbs for flowering. but sounds pretty good 2 me man. u might wanna see if u can find a t8 that is daylight(usually 5500-6500k)bulb. or just get daylight CFL's and use the t8 u have now. i use 6 daylight CFLs and 2 softwhite CFLs all 23 watt. And the plants are gettin so much light its crazy. read up on CFLs. Same concept when it comes to the light spectrum. I got all my info mainly in the CFL forum. All good info bout growing with florescents. Check it out.

From my experience, wrong choice in lights. The t8's are not very efficient, go with t5's as much, much better lumen output. Regardless of which type, flouro's in a closet produce heat, and none of them are truly appropriate for flowering... just not enough total lumen output. They might work, but do the same thing with a HID & you won't even be able to tell they were from the same plant. You will get light & sparse buds, no matter how well you do in other areas. Also, with an HID, you have the option to house the ballast outside the closet & air cool the bulb. Both of these will greatly improve your temps. IMHO, through experience, a properly vented 400wHID will produce less heat build-up vs your bank of flouros. Not to mention produce much denser product. Best.
