First. Of all sorry about my spelling and grammar.

This is my first set up.
I have 2 x 400w hps under one light shade but i only have the one running Right now untill i get a bigger inline fan because i only have a baby inline fan at the moment. It's just blowing free because its too small for my carbon filter.

Now to my 3 plants. I got them off a friend they were in normal soil and I think the soil was not draining properly. So On 24/7/13 got some niksmix soil and did a transplant hopefully right .

Pics taken a day after.

My plants are sick and I need help.

Do you think they will be ok ?

take plain water, add 1/4 strength nutrients
10x the medium so, if you have a 5 gallon bucket,~ 50 gallons
flush it through outside or something
this will correct the problem if its nute burn, and ensure you still have some nutes for recovery. once green growth emerges start removing damaged growth and slowly up nutes

Back the lights away a bit, stop watering so much and next time you do water, feed them with 1/4 strength nutes and a teaspoon of epsom salts, cuz you have a Mag def and the epsom will fix that...good luck and welcome to RIU :bigjoint:

Yes, do feed the babies..
No, do not flush, the leaves are drooping, saying they've had too much water already
No, it's not nute burn, the lights are too close and he has a Mag def and DO NOT remove the leaves, they will fall off when the plant is through with them

What RIKNSTEIN said. And, be careful with your set up and lighting. It just looks a little precarious. I'm hoping you have those lights on a ballast.

Hey, I think we need a pro's opinion here asap on his WIRING.

I'm looking at that 2nd picture, where you can see the wires he has running to his lights. Is it just me or do those wires look like they are completely not rated to handle the kind of power he's running through them. They look like speaker wire or something flimsy. Maybe they are fine, but damn they look frail.

OP can you tell us about your setup. Did you make it yourself, buy it from a friend, a retailer? Do you have a fire extinguisher nearby?

No its not speaker wire. i do see what you mean tho. The one with the black wire is the standard wire and light socket to that shade. It just looks out of place a bit because i moved it up a little bit. To prevent a peace of clear Perspex i used to trap the heat better from burning. It turns out I did not need it in the end because I have not seen the temp go over 75. But with both lights on it gets to hot. I will be upgrading to some air cooled light shades when I put the other 400 hps on. And yes I do have a fire extinguisher and smoke alarm. Sorry if you can't read this I can't write for shit.
