My seedlings stopped growing!? Help!

Hey All,

Im new to this art and this forum.

I started germinating my seeds in rockwool on the 25th of January. (The AK was started on the 28th).

One is auto northern lights (short one) and one is auto AK (Tall one).

They have been idol for the last 4 days... im talking ZERO movement.

I have attached some pictures... Can anyone lend a hand?

Keep a CFL right on top of them. It's roots before shoots. The earliest plant portion you see is there only to support primary root growth.

Thanks! how long does it typically take for autos from seed in rockwool until i am able to transplant to my growing medium.... im just worried these are behind on time. (stunted)

I bet they're dried out. You should put a humidity dome or plastic bag over your seedlings.

I killed 7 seedlings starting out by keeping them too wet and humid. My recent success (so far) came when I got rid of the humidity dome and went with frequent misting.

Well since you asked, I'd suggest considering forgetting the rockwool cubes in the future. To me they just add an unnecessary complexity to what should be a real simple process: moisten starter soil, poke seed in about 3X the diameter of the seed, put under cfl and keep around 85 degrees. Watch seed sprout in about 72 hours. Never really understood the advantage of starting in cubes, or germinating on paper towels. The last thing in the world I'd want to see is a naked hypocotyl and try to plant the delicate sprout.

Just my opinion but keep it simple in the beginning and try to provide conditions your plant would find in nature. It evolved germinating in soil, not rockwool.

Like I said before - wait until roots show. A root is showing. Transplant it! Do NOT overwater and I guarantee you will.
